Celebrating Growth, Community, and the Journey Ahead

Over the last few years, Avanti Homecare has seen some exciting developments. The journey has been thrilling, sometimes challenging, but always deeply rewarding. At the centre of it all has been our mission: to support people in their own homes with excellent care that preserves independence and dignity.

As we relaunch our blog, we wanted to take the opportunity to reintroduce ourselves, reflect on the progress we’ve made, and get up to date on everything that has happened at Avanti! Whether you’ve been part of the Avanti family for years, or you’re just discovering us now, welcome! We’re so pleased to have you here.

Supporting More People, in More Ways

At Avanti Homecare, we’re proud to have supported hundreds of individuals and families across Ripley, Long Eaton and Ilkeston. Behind every number is a person with their own story, routines and way of living. Our role isn’t to take over, but to help people live life on their own terms, with support where it’s needed most. From first visits to long-term care, our carers build relationships founded on compassion, understanding and friendship, walking alongside people through moments of transition, recovery and joy.

Recognised for Quality

We are delighted to share that following our most recent CQC inspection, Avanti Homecare was rated ‘Good’. This rating is a testament to the dedication of our carers, coordinators, trainers, and support staff.

The CQC highlighted our commitment to safe, person-centred care, and the feedback confirmed what we already knew: that our team goes above and beyond to make sure clients feel respected and cared for. While we’re proud of this achievement, we also see it as motivation to keep striving for excellence. Our next goal is to build on this foundation and work towards an even higher rating in future.

The Heart of Our Growth: Our Team

Growth at Avanti hasn’t just been about reaching more clients, it’s also been about nurturing the people who make that possible: our carers and office staff. Over the past year, we’ve welcomed a number of new recruits, all of whom bring something unique to our organisation.

Meet Our New Trainer: Kirsty

Training is one of the most important foundations of great care. With Kirsty joining our team, we’ve been able to elevate the way we prepare carers for their roles. She has helped elevate our training programmes that cover not only the technical aspects of care but also the emotional intelligence required for the job. Her influence has already raised the standard of care across our teams, and we couldn’t be happier to have her on board.

Welcoming Leonie, Our Senior Care Coordinator in Ripley

At our Ripley branch, Leonie has taken on the crucial role of Senior Care Coordinator. She works tirelessly to make sure clients receive the right care at the right time, while also ensuring our carers feel supported. Her background in homecare has given her a strong understanding of the daily realities carers face, and she uses this knowledge to help smooth out challenges and ensure continuity of care.

Gemma, Our People and Development Manager

The role of People and Development Manager is about so much more than HR, it’s about shaping the culture of an organisation. Gemma has stepped into this role with a clear vision: to build a thriving, compliant, and high-performing workforce. Gemma brings a wealth of experience in people management and a passion for employee well-being. Her initiatives have already strengthened our recruitment, retention, and professional development processes, ensuring that Avanti remains a place where carers can grow their careers.

Our Newest Recruit, Libby, Our Marketing and Community Engagement Officer

Our blog relaunch wouldn’t be possible without Libby! As our Marketing and Community Engagement Officer, she has transformed the way we connect with our community. From refreshing our social media channels to beginning to organise local events, Libby has made sure that Avanti’s presence is felt not just in the homes we serve, but in the wider community too. Her efforts are helping us showcase the incredible work of our carers, celebrate milestones, and spark conversations about homecare. She is also building links with local organisations, creating opportunities for collaboration and raising awareness of how we can help our local community stay independent in their own homes.

Listening to Our Clients

We believe that the best way to improve is to listen. That’s why our 2024/25 client survey was so important to us. The results were heartening, with highlights such as:

  • High satisfaction with the kindness and professionalism of our carers.
  • Strong trust in Avanti’s reliability and responsiveness.
  • Positive feedback on our ability to support independence and dignity.

One client’s relative commented, “The management team has always listened to my concerns and provided me with the best solution to any situation that has arisen. The carers are hard working individuals who demonstrate compassion, respect and perseverance in all they do. They go above and beyond to ensure their clients’ needs are met.’

Feedback like this fuels our commitment to continuous improvement and reassures us that we are having a real and positive impact of our client’s lives. Learn more about our 2025 client results here!

Life at Avanti: Day-to-Day Stories

Numbers, ratings, and surveys are important, but the heart of homecare is in the stories that happen every day. A carer making someone’s favourite cup of tea just the way they like it. A cheerful chat that lifts a client’s mood. A moment of encouragement that helps someone regain confidence after an illness. Our Care Quality Manager, Noreen, oversees these interactions, ensuring that Avanti’s caring standards are always exceptional and led by compassion.

We often hear from carers who say that what they value most about their work is the relationships they build. Our blog will be a place where we share our client and carers stories, giving a glimpse into the everyday kindness and dedication that defines our team. We hope to share an insight into domiciliary care for those who may be considering homecare for themselves or a loved one.

Our Community Connections

Beyond individual care, Avanti has been busy building stronger links within our local community. We are excited to partner with local groups to host information sessions, attend community events to raise awareness about homecare, and will continue to work closely with families to provide guidance on navigating the care journey.

Our presence in Ripley, Long Eaton, and Ilkeston is about more than providing care, it’s about being an active, supportive part of the community fabric. By engaging with local people, we hope to not only provide care but also reduce stigma, spark conversations, and create a stronger sense of belonging for everyone involved.

We are incredibly proud of the strong sense of community within our team. This July, we celebrated that spirit by hosting a Cultural Day for our carers and office staff. The day was filled with delicious foods from around the world, lively international music, and plenty of laughter and conversation. It was a joy to experience the richness of our team’s diverse backgrounds, and we felt truly grateful for the enthusiasm and generosity with which everyone shared their culture.

A Word of Thanks

Finally, we want to say a heartfelt thank you. To our clients and client families, for trusting us with something so precious. To our carers, for bringing compassion and professionalism to every visit. To our office staff, for keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes, and to our wider community, for embracing us as part of the local landscape.

Avanti Homecare is more than just a service, it’s a community. As we relaunch our blog, we’re excited to keep sharing updates, stories, and insights with you. Together, we’ll continue building a future where excellent care, independence, and dignity are always our main priority.

Here’s to the next chapter of the Avanti journey!

A huge thank you from all the team at
