Avanti Homecare are working with Karantis360 to provide a personalised smart monitoring solution to help the people we care for stay in their homes, independently and safe.

What is it?

A discrete set of sensors (usually 5 or more) are installed around the home, these sensors record information about the living habits of the person being cared for.

The sensor data is securely transmitted via the internet back to IBM where a computer program learns the patterns of the person’s behaviour… when they get up, what time they make a cup of tea etc.

Over a period of around 2 weeks a picture of what is normal behaviour is learnt.

Now the system knows what is normal the Karantis360 monitoring software keeps a check and generates alerts when something is out of the ordinary.

Alerts are received by both Avanti Homecare and family members. Avanti will act on alerts with an immediate phone call and then dispatching carers to check in the event of no response.

How much does it cost?

The exact cost of a system will depend on the amount of sensors, but starting costs are around £900 for the system and installation. Monitoring and response starts at £120 per month.
